By the 2020s, internal combustion cars have been largely replaced by self-driving electric vehicles, but Japan’s MFG group keeps fossil fuel racing alive through online competitions. With 10 billion yen at stake, over 300 drivers compete, with only the top 15, the “Godly Fifteen,” eligible for the prize.

Nineteen-year-old Kanata Rivington arrives from England to compete in the MFG. Driving a hand-me-down Toyota 86 GT, he aims to break into the Godly Fifteen despite his car’s age. Adopting his father’s last name, he becomes “Kanata Katagiri,” hoping to win and uncover his missing father’s whereabouts.
